If you're tired of the old, cliched, V-day date ideas, give some of these a whirl. Your new date and old flame will both thank you...but don't take them both at the same time.

2. Another option for you lovebirds  - get some laughs in at an improv tournament. Hosted by the Vancouver Theatresports League, the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre is an international comedy competition promising extra laughs, extra love, extra gore. Runs Wed - Sat nights until Feb 14.

3. How about this festive twist on the classic movie date? The Rio Theatre is featuring a night billed as 'Sweet Heart Serenade', with a intimate concert featuring some great local talent and a screening of the Princess Bride on Feb 14th. Check out the Rio website for full details.

4. Last but not least, get some fesh air and head to the hills for an evening of snowshoes & fondue with your honey. Seymour, Cypress and Grouse all offer Valentines packages, so sneak in some wine and take in the views as you cuddle to stay warm.
